Vintage Yellow Floral Daher Tin - Octagon Shape Tin Made in England circa pre-1980s

{HISTORY}

A pretty vintage tin knows no boundaries!

Made in England for Daher, a US-based gift packaging company headquartered in Long Island, New York, this vintage tin with its pretty floral pattern was made to package all sorts of things in pretty fashion. From beauty products to chocolate, tea to biscuits, anything wrapped up in a Daher tin was really two gifts in one thanks to their attractive containers. The same design pattern could be used as packaging for bath salts for a California department store or used to house tea bags from Asia brought in by an East Coast import company. No matter what the product was or who the brand was, everything always looked better when paired with a pretty Daher tin.

This one features an octagonal shape and a shimmery floral pattern in marigold, teal, burgundy, white, blueberry and celadon green colors.  Of course, there are a zillion ways to incorporate this petite caddy into your space, but around here we especially like it as a pantry organizer, a kitchen countertop storage helper, or a gift tin filled with homemade treats for family and friends.

The Daher brand was in operation between the 1940s and 1980s. All of their containers were designed in Long Island, NY but manufactured in England or Holland. In the 1980s, the company changed names to The Tin Box Company, thus ending the Daher brand. Now very collectible, Daher tins and trays add an instant splash of color and style to any kitchen.  They are one of our most favorite tin manufacturers here in the shop, so keep your eye out for more.
