Vintage Midcentury Brown Brush Pottery Planter - Oblong Shape 176-10

{HISTORY}

Like the coziest of sweaters, this vintage Brush Pottery planter has a Fair Isle vibe with with its whitewashed speckled rim and beautiful chestnut color palette. Oblong in shape, it boasts stripes around the exterior body and thumbprint-style indentations around the rim giving it interesting texture and dimension from all angles. 

An ideal container for a small herb garden, a potted plant, or a whimsical succulent garden, this planter is deep enough to hold bulbs and wide enough to hold up to a handful of small seed starting pots.    

Heavy and beautifully constructed, this planter was made by Brush Pottery during the mid-20th century and features the 176-10 shape which came in a wide range of colors and paint styles. 

Operating from 1909 to 1982 in Zanesville, Ohio, Brush Pottery was known for all sorts of unique pieces and high-quality craftsmanship. In addition to planters, they made a range of decorative domestic ware that included jugs, vases, cookie jars, and figurines.
